Terms and Conditions

Oh No the fine print! Don't worry it's pretty standard and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

 Booking and Payment:

Storybook Faces requires a signed service agreement to be considered booked for your event time.  If the date of the event is 3 months out, a deposit may be required as well.

The balance for all events is due at the end of the event. We accept cash, cashier’s checks, credit cards, PayPal and Square.  PayPal or Square payments require an additional 3% processing fee.

Storybook Faces quotes are for the least amount of hours requested.  If the party goes over time, and you would like the artist to stay longer, the extra amount will be added onto the remaining balance.

We may arrange to receive payments after an event date.  However, any payments not received after two weeks of the event date are considered late.  Unless otherwise discussed.

Services Provided:

Our artist will arrive 15-45 minutes early to allow time to set up.

If more guests attend the event than are expected, and the artist does not have another event to attend, they may stay longer and will bill the client at an agreed upon hourly rate for additional time.

The artist may take a 10 minute break every 2 hours if needed, for events that go more than 3 hours.

Estimated number of children painted per hour is dependent upon all of the guests being present at the start time and ready to go one after another. For a more casual schedule, please factor in additional time.

Services NOT Provided:

Under no circumstances will the artist supervise children alone. Their behavior and safety is the Client’s and/or Parent’s responsibly.

The artist is not responsible for any adverse effects that other entertainment might have on the face painting, such as sweat (bounce houses), water (swimming pools), etc. Your quoted time frame does not include time required to re-do faces so please plan accordingly.

Working Conditions:

The artist reserves the right to stop painting or twisting balloons and leave without refunding any monies if there are extreme adverse working conditions and the client fails to remedy the situation after it has been brought to the client's attention.  Adverse conditions include but are not limited to: destructive, violent, or inappropriate behavior of a child, pet or adult, illegal activities, or otherwise dangerous conditions including lightning and severe weather.

Artist requires access to bathroom facilities if an event exceeds 3 hours.

Outdoor Events:

Client is responsible for providing an alternate indoor location in the event of inclement weather.

Artists are not able to paint outdoors when the temperature is below 50 degrees.  Unless informed beforehand so our artist can be prepared.

If you would like Storybook Faces to provide an easy-up tent, lighting, etc., additional charges may apply. We will need to set up 1 hour prior to start and after completion of event in this case.  If an easy up is required we request a minimum of 10’L x 10’W x 11’ H of level space.

Rescheduling and Cancellations:

Should you need to reschedule your event, please do so at least one week prior to the event and we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs.  Exceptions are made in the case of hospitalizations or emergencies, of course.

In the case of inclement weather a “Rain-check” may be issued if at least 24 hours notice is given. If less than 24 hours notice is given any deposit is forfeit. The “Rain-check” is good for the same service or equivalent event within one year that can be worked into Storybook Faces’ schedule.  The “Rain-check” cannot be used unless an artist from Storybook Faces is available.

If the event is canceled and Storybook Faces is notified within ****Hours**** the deposit will be good for one year from the date of the original scheduled date.  This deposit will then be good for any similar event within the year that Storybook Faces is available to attend at the request of the customer. If the performer is not scheduled within that year, the deposit is forfeit.

Should our artist get sick or have to cancel, we will do our best to schedule another trusted artist or we will refund the full amount of the service agreement.

Liability Statement:

While we use FDA ONLY approved cosmetic grade face and body painting supplies, our artist is not liable for allergic reactions of anyone they paint. People with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either not participate, or have the artist perform a patch test at the beginning of the event, to be sure. Client understands that darker face paints may linger and paint can be removed with mild soap, water and washcloth or makeup remover.
